I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair met personally to promote next month's boxing match.

Ex two-time world boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest financial successes, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly happening.
