Area Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Cars, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they stated in a release.
Police say they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.
The substance had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they stated.
Officers then located multiple other smeared vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.
Police say early analysis indicate the fluid was likely human blood.
"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; officials are not yet cognizant of any physical harm in relation with the occurrence," they added.
Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have asked to the community for information.
An important representative commented the vandalism rendered him without words and needed to be solved promptly.
"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine people by a assailant aiming at people of migrant background in February 2020.
